Overall Business Assessment

Generally management knows the day operating problems of the business, but they have not necessarily translated them into the business strategy or tactical plans to improve them.

Business Self Evaluation

One quick technique is to perform an assessment using the Business Self Evaluation approach which was developed as part of The Compass Approach process. The approach looks at 12 different aspects of the business and rates them across three time periods (Today, 6 Months, and 12 months).

The evaluation can help in the planning process by identifying where the company needs to focus their efforts. In addition, having this evaluation completed and summarized across the management team will help to get a cross-functional view of the challenges and opportunities facing the organization.

For Organizational Alignment

In today’s business environment with all of the radical changes, uncertainty, new rules and regulations, and increased customer demands, how do you manage and thrive as an organization? We have found that a significant variable is how well your organization is cross-functionally aligned to the organization’s vision and goals.

D.I.AL.O.G. – Confirms alignment with business strategy

The D.I.AL.O.G Assessment (Data Indicating Alignment of Organizational Goals) is an organizational assessment tool that provides information as to how well critical elements are working together to achieve business and strategic goals. It also identifies which of these critical elements are working against you.

The D.I.AL.O.G. approach is unique in that it measures the inter-relationships of the essential elements that become the predictors of future strength for the organization The seven categories are:

  • Leadership
  • Strategic Planning
  • Customer and Market Focus
  • Measurement
  • Human resource Foocus
  • Process Management
  • Business Results

These are the same criteria that are used in the evaluation of for the also criteria for Performance Excellence as used by the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program.
