Overall Business Assessment

Generally management knows the day operating problems of the business, but they have not necessarily translated them into the business strategy or tactical plans to improve them.

Business Self Evaluation

One quick technique is to perform an assessment using the Business Self Evaluation approach which was developed as part of The Compass Approach process. The approach looks at 12 different aspects of the business and rates them across three time periods (Today, 6 Months, and 12 months).

The evaluation can help in the planning process by identifying where the company needs to focus their efforts. In addition, having this evaluation completed and summarized across the management team will help to get a cross-functional view of the challenges and opportunities facing the organization.
